Student lands dream job at top hotel chain

Friday, 10 August 2012

A STUDENT from Havering College has landed her dream job as a beauty therapist to the stars.
Robyn Crew has been recruited by The London Hilton on Park Lane where she is currently delivering well-earned pampering to athletes competing at the Olympics.
The 19-year-old from Rainham has already pampered a chart-topping singer and an Arab prince.
She said: “I am having an amazing time working at The Hilton. I really enjoy every minute of being at work. I don’t think I would have achieved all this if I had gone to another college. The tutors at Havering College are very experienced and taught me so much.”
Robyn’s training took place at the college’s state-of-the-art salons at the Ardleigh Green Campus in Hornchurch and at The Lanes Hair and Beauty, Brentwood.
She honed her skills on real clients as the training salons are open to the public who are able to book in for a range of treatments using leading brand products such as L’Oreal, Dermalogica, Fake Bake, OPI and Eve Taylor.
The treatments are carried out by students overseen by experienced tutors. Clients pay only a fraction of the usual cost of a high street salon.
Havering College area head of Hair and Beauty Lesley Chantler said: “Landing a dream job as a therapist at The London Hilton on Park Lane is a fantastic achievement.”
